Me: “So… why did you reach out to me for the Head of Design role? I’m pretty sure I don’t check the boxes.”

Recruiter: “We look past titles. You’ve gone from flipping burgers, to neurosurgery research, to medical interpreting, to wedding photography, and then to UX design. Every time, you’ve learned fast and excelled. That adaptability matters more than a specific degree or a strict number of years.”

A few moments that shape me

Driving 400 miles for my favorite fruit trees.
Noticing color gradients in the garden.
Packing too light for an international trip.
Whatever it takes to get the perfect shot!
Visiting the motherland once in a while.
Harvesting the freshest coconuts at my aunt’s house.
Family road trips…and playing along with whatever my nieces and nephews have in mind.
Appreciating the little moments.
Making lifetime friends at work.
A milestone that taught me how far collaboration can take you.
Going on easy hikes.
Traveling keeps me curious and comfortable outside my comfort zone.
Celebrating traditions with my nieces and nephews.
Dressing up my nieces and nephews for photo shoots.
Chasing sunsets after work and getting too close to the water. (The camera is okay.)
Counting memories, not birthdays.

Check out how it all shows up in my work

Everything I’ve done shapes how I design today—with curiosity, empathy, and adaptability.
